Stressed About Senior Developer Leaving the Job? Here's What You Can Do

Having a senior developer is critical for your growth.

They bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the table. They guide and support you through your tasks, providing valuable mentorship and technical guidance. This means senior developers play a vital role in your growth and success.

Without senior developers, you may struggle and here are 2 things you can do -

1. Enquire about their hiring plan

Ask them how long will it take to fill up the position.

It is important to know the expected time frame for when the position will be filled. If they are vague or non-committal, that could be a red flag.

Without a senior dev, there will no guidance.

2. Set Clear expectations

Communicate what tasks you are capable of taking on.

You just can't take up the work the senior dev was doing. It requires a higher set of skills than you currently have.

Doing work beyond your skillset will lead to stress and burnout.

If the situation doesn't feel right, start looking for a new job.
